Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain.
The weather is so unpredictable here in the Pacific Northwest. Rain yesterday, sun today… and snow coming this weekend. So we dress in layers, and in the winter… lots of them. This is working out quite well for Woolamina and me. And even though the sun was out… it was super chilly. I even got out a hat!
For those of you new to this blog …I am involved in a 100-Day Challenge, put on by Wool& — Same dress. 100 days. (And yes, you can wash it!) Part of my reasons for deciding to do this was to simplify my life, especially with my lifestyle.
What’s in store today:
Two words: beach day! The dogs and I took a little walk down to the beach. So pretty, but windy and chilly.
And here we are coming back, through the field that leads to the beach and back.
I also practiced Appalachian Flatfooting and Clogging, going over the foundation steps, and working on the sequences. Trying to get down the Tennessee Walking Step!! I made a blog page yesterday — you can see it HERE.
Here’s what I came up with for today!
I bundled up.. but put on my Sunglasses. These are prescription — and come from Zenni. They are super easy to order And at a fraction of the cost… I think these were about $40 shipped — and they are bifocals!
Boots are by Keen. I got them to walk the Camino Santiago… and although I didn’t end up in Spain, as planned, I love these boots — you could wear them for weeks… or 600 hundred miles!
Today’s layers: Woolamina over leggings, socks, and boots, with Gap Coat and thrift store scarf. And hat as needed!
This is one of the $1 scarves that I found at the thrift store the other day. Doesn’t take up much room, but surprisingly warm.
Hat is one that I designed — you can get a FREE PATTERN HERE.
This is my favorite eyeglass case — since I am pretty much blind without them, I need to carry a case with my sunglasses for driving. The girls brought me this back from their trip to Paris a few years ago.
WHEW!
So great to get some sunshine — soak up the vitamin D — and Vitamin Sea! I was happy to be able to make it down to the beach, and I know the dogs were!
More to come — so check back often!

Here's what I came up with for today! Downtown -- at least once a week, I like to go out and get all my errands and shopping done. And maybe have a little happy hour. But it is Lent right now --In case you didn't know - and I have given up... Alcohol. And I...
day 42: hair
Yep -- did the hair thing... and boy was it liberating!! I haven't had a real haircut since September 2017. And a lot has happened since then... not just the 2 feet of hair that I grew! But it was getting too long, and weighing me down, literally and...
day 41: drive my car
Drive my car? I was happy to be taken up on it for the drive to Portland... so I could spend a couple of hours on #1's sweater. Usually, I am always the driver on the trip. Mostly because I am the only one with opposable thumbs. Comes in handy for things like......
Appalachian Flatfooting and Clogging with Tracy: Week 4
I heard that if you can't laugh at yourself...don't take up Appalachian Flatfooting and Clogging. It's week 4... And actually, I made that up. But for me it makes sense. This week has been challenging and fun... and I have laughed a lot at myself in the process. I...
day 40: down to the water
What do you wear when you go down to the water in the PNW? When I think of going down to the water, down to the beach, I usually think of bathing suits, and shorts, sandals, sundresses, and towels. I think of the smell of sunscreen and sandy blankets. That...
What a nice day with the pups at the beach!
It’s always a good day at the beach when the dogs are there!
