day 89 of #tracywearswool: sing a song

day 89 of #tracywearswool: sing a song

Day 89 of  #tracywearswool. And I am in the mood for singing… and for Spring in the Pacific Northwest.

We have had some absolutely gorgeous days — up into the 80’s and then down into the 40s.  Crazy, so it is best to dress in layers in this neck of the woods.

Spring is sprung, the grass is riz, I wonder where the birdies is?

They are all out here in Portland.  Singing their songs, cheering us up.

Sing a Song is a great song by the R&B band Earth, Wind & Fire. It was released on the 1976 double live LP, Gratitude, and it spent two weeks at number one on the R&B singles chart.

And… it’s catchy! Have a listen:

And, Yay!! I found the clicker to my Fugetek tripod  —I thought I left it in Portland, but it found its way in my travel kit!!  Now, I have two… so I can leave on in the car for travel! Best $20 ever!

For those of you new to this blog …I am involved in a 100-Day Challenge, put on by Wool&  —  Same dress.  100 days. (And yes, you can wash it!) Part of my reasons for deciding to do this was to simplify my life, especially with my lifestyle.

What’s in store today:

It’s a beautiful day, and we have a wonderful drive along the Columbia River to Portland, with a stop in Scappoose at the best Goodwill. And maybe the drive-through taco place!

I’ve owned this baby blue chambray linen button-down shirt from JJill for about 5 years.  It has been darned numerous times and is now tattered and threadbare.  And yet — I can’t seem to part with it. No special connection — I just love it.

Picked up these CRAZY LuLaRoe leggings at the Goodwill today, and had to swap out my black ones…. I just adore them.  Super soft, and fit like a glove.

If you are up for fun and feeling daring, you can get some new LuLaRoe leggings for $15 — random choice/mystery prints!

I am starting to think of what to wear for my 100-day celebration outfit!!

Tutu and Tiara? Pearls and Chucks? Clown Barf? Out of my comfort zone??

We will have to see!!!

Thanks for joining me on day 89 of #tracywearswool.

Stay tuned for the next 11 days!

Be well, and get out there sing.

Day 88 of  #tracywearswool. What could be more perfect than this dress? Goes with everything.

It has been a crazy weekend – I have Number 1 visiting me up on the coast, and lots of guests checking in and out, a late poker night — where we played blackjack and ate pizza…. oh… and a fire broke out next door and we almost had to evacuate.  Whew.

Can’t wait to pick up my Fugetek tripod & clicker that I left in Portland.  It has been crazy trying to shoot photos without it.

But I have been digging making these little videos!!

What’s in store today:

Beautiful almost summer day… lots going on… knitting, and blogging, and hanging out at the beach!

This little sundress is doubling as a jumper today — and for you Brits — that’s a pinafore!  Shapeless and roomy, it is perfect over Woolamina. How am I ever going to go back to pants after this??

#tracywearswool 88

I am also wearing some Keen Sandals — which I adore.  I have a number of the unisex ones, but these are slightly more girly. NEWER VERSION IS HERE!

#tracywearswool 88

I have had a lot of folks ask if the dress is hot — and the answer is DEFINATELY NOT HOT! It is a light weight, stretchy jersey knit… and actually quite cool.

Also — DOES NOT ITCH — which is question #2.

Thanks for joining me on day 88 of #tracywearswool.

Stay tuned for the next 12 days!

Be well, and get out there and make some changes.

Day 86 of  #tracywearswool. When I dress up, well I know I’m gonna be, I’m gonna be the one who’s dressing up with you.

With apologies to the Proclaimers.  But that is pretty much how it is…. undying love for my dress Woolamina.  Because I will walk 500 miles, and I would  walk 500 more…. Just to be the one who walks a thousand miles to Fall down at Wool’s door>

Such a great stress!!  ANd I have been having so much fun with the challenge.  This weekend, i have fallen a bit behind — as I faced the problem of leaving my Bluetooth clicker for my Fugetek tripod… in Portland.

So these photos, have been made using the timer…. and a few other features!!  But to be safe, I have ordered a second — because at under $20, I can have them in both spots!

What’s in store today:

Starting to warm up… and Number 1  made it up to the coast with me!! Yay for camping!! And what is better for camping than… Bacon.  This Shot courtesy of Jen … It was her bacon and cup!!

The shirt is older than Moses. I have had it so long that the tag info is gone.  But, super soft and comfortable.. and wouldn’t trade it, because it seems to go with everything!

#tracywearswool 87

I am not running out of outfit combinations… still haven’t worn the same outfit twice.   But I am running out of poses… this is just a random shot from the timer sequence.

#tracywearswool 87

Coming into the home stretch, with less than 2 weeks remaining.  What will I do after… Nor sure.  Probably join the After Challenge Facebook Group, and get my reward dress all picked out and ordered!

Day 86 of  #tracywearswool. Let the midnight special shine it’s ever-loving light on me.

Nice to have light shine i=on you even if it is from a prison train.  Or so the song goes.  one of my very favorite CCR songs.

It is funny how songs stick with us…. just a few notes of the opening riff… and everyone knows exactly what song it is.  And they know a lot of the words.  Just how it goes.

Music is one of the great unifying forces in nature. I firmly believe that.

Crazy mid 70 weather in Portland.  A great day for lawn mowing and leaf blowing… and for moving along on a garden project.  And today… we got water!!

I picked up this great LuLaroe tshirt at one of my Goodwill trips –At the Scappoose Goodwill.  I love this print — lots of nice oranges, and blacks and gray… perfect for going with my dress.

This is my daughter’s covered handicap ramp.  We don’t think there is another one like it in Portland. And I can’t figure out why — the tin roof is perfect for the rain!

Pretty nice, and makes getting into the main house easy. And it is a great spot for the Star Jasmine to wind its way up.

day 85 of #tracywearswool: a satisfied mind

Day 85 of #tracywearswool  — and I’m richer by far with a satisfied mind!

There’s one thing for certain when it comes my time, I’ll leave this old world, with a satisfied mind. At least I hope so.

And I think I can start working on it now… get it all satisfied and right… long before it’s my time to cash in.

But what does that mean.  I suppose something different for everyone.  Me, I want to feel like I left the world a little bit better that=nn I found it. Like I made my mark, somehow.  I am not sure exactly HOW that will look…. but I am sure it will come to me.

And it is something for me to keep in mind with this #100daydresschallenge., especially 85 days in!

Here is Jeff Buckly singing my favorite version:

What’s in store today:

Amazing sunshiny day in Portland… and the days are going to keep getting nicer.  Which is perfect.  I am hoping that we will be able to wrap up the planter boxes and get some seeds planted this weekend.

#tracywearswool 85

Today’s look was particularly fun… I picked up a little 100% cotton knit t-dress at Target and threw it over my Woolaina.   I love the color – reminds me of salted caramel.

Best of all is my handmade bag that Numer 1 brought back from Columbia.

It is all handmade by indigenous people on the coastline of Columbia. Spun out of goat hair, and stitched together with a needle, similar to basket weaving.  The strap is braided.

Number 1 swears that she can smell the little dancing goats.

And I just love it and will cherish it forever.  Check it out below!

day 84 of #tracywearswool: bookends

Day 84 of  #tracywearswool, time it was, oh what a time it was…

And here we are, in the middle of completely crazy times. Bonkers.  How are we to cope??

The first year was so uncertain.  What would happen?? Would the lock last a month?? How would we cope, and would there be enough toilet paper?? And I think many of us were in total disbelief.

And for me, March 2020 was the worst.  I was sick for a month.  103  fevers. Felt like someone sitting on my chest.  And my lungs felt like razors when outside cold hit the warm tissue…causing so much pain.  And the cough, incredible.  Not to mention that everything tasted like dirt. But I got over it, in time.

Looking at that last year, I spent a lot of time waiting.  Waiting to get better, waiting for the lockdowns to let up, waiting for positive news.  I was socially paralyzed, and just waiting.

I looked back after so many months, and thought, what have I accomplished during this time of lockdown? What have I done to replace all my old activities? How have I moved forward? And the truth is … I didn’t do much, change much, or grow much. So, I decided to change all that.

What’s in store today:

Crazy 72 degrees in Portland today.  Wow!! And a great day to enjoy the day outside.

Knitting, singing, and blogging. I played with the dogs, and met a friend for coffee who is considering the challenge!  And Happy Hour — made it to the local taco place with Number 1 for some yummy food and adult beverages.

Day 84 of #tracywearswool and the color is definitely pink.  I love this pink floral Edie Bauer blouse over Woolamina, then topped with the Cabela denim vest.

#tracywearswool 84

Still… Legs are enjoying the 72 degree weather, and believe me, this is considered “tan” for the Pacific Northwest.

” Wow, you been on vacation??” I get it all the time…  (bwahahahha… just kidding!)

#tracywearswool 84

But not to worry, pretty soon, I will be brown as a berry from the beach sun, and wearing my post-challenge sleeveless reward dress!  Which color should I order… there are so many cool ones!!

#tracywearswool 84

These are some of very favorite Dansko mary-jane clogs!  Super comfy, and they look a little dressy!

And the Dude — always on high alert.  Super sweet, little old man-dog.
