Day 6
Day 6 was all the way up in the low 50s, so I took advantage of the pleasantly balmy weather to get the 250 tulip bulbs that I had ordered late into their intended spot. I can’t wait until spring comes. Tulips do really well up here in Portland, and the bulbs can stay in the ground year-round.
And yes, I did actually garden in my cashmere sweater!
I also got out my notions box, and repaired one of Brooke’s favorite sweaters, something I have been putting off for a bit. Below is my favorite notions bag for knitting, filled with all sorts of handy tools. I keep meaning to write a post about all my favorites, but the little clear case contains most of them and for under $8! You can find info about that HERE.
For those of you new to this blog …I am involved in a 100-Day Challenge, put on by Wool& — Same dress. 100 days. Details are on tracywearswool.com. I am also taking the same 100 days to make some additional positive changes to develop daily habits in writing, art, knitting and eating better. I will also be not buying anything but essentials, and giving away an item for each of the 100 days.
JANUARY 6, 2022 – DAY 6
Today I tossed on my dress, followed by a green cashmere sweater from Chicos, and a scarf I knit — and was my first hand dyed yarn. So much fun.
I am still working away on the yoke section of my Alberta Summer sweater.
Last year, I ended up knitting 14 sweaters… this year I am aiming for the 12 again… and let’s see what happens. I had a special request from the older sister of a new baby who got a sweater… so I might make a matching one for Big Sister.
This is my drawing of the day — ink with watercolor wash. Hmmm looks like someone wearing a dress like mine….
Winsor & Newton watercolor paints, and my favorite little Pentalic 3 x 4″ Pocket Sketchbook Traveler Journal.
Here is where most of the tulip bulbs are burried. I am so happy I got them in.
Today’s giveaway was a candle holder that I have had for years, but never seem to use. I am hoping to find a good home for it.
Thanks for joining me on day 6 of my #tracywearswool & new habits journey.
Stay tuned for the next 96 days!
–Tracy
